Australia has a new women’s combat pants with a futuristic logo, with the first two pairs arriving today.
The women’s uniforms feature a red-and-white design inspired by Australia’s iconic war-torn 1940s military uniforms, with blue mesh panels in the shoulders, front and back.
The new uniforms are meant to be worn by members of the military, the police and security guards and, to a lesser extent, to anyone who wants to be “a bit more stealthy” in public.
The Australian Defense Force has already had some success in creating a camouflage uniform, the military-issue uniform that allows troops to operate in remote areas, but the latest batch of uniforms feature an “Australian” logo in the shoulder seams.
Australian soldiers wear the uniforms as a sign of respect for their country’s flag, which is displayed on the front of the pants.
The military-style pants will be available to buy by July 4.
